The percentage of children who graduate highschool is far below 50% and average income is 30% less than the national average – well below the poverty line.

A Family Saved

Miriam was a convert who came from the United States and settled in Israel. She ran a beautiful household of 12 happy children… until she died of cancer when her youngest – Sarah – was only three years old.

Sarah’s father was broken by the sudden loss of his wife. Bedridden from his depression, he could not take care of his children or their home. Tzedakah V’Chesed supported Sarah’s family emotionally and financially. With her father’s consent, we found Sara a foster family. All of the children maintain a constant, warm relationship with their father while having all of their needs met in a new home and a supportive school. We provide the foster parents with clothing and stipends to feed and clothe these precious children. We also make sure they have free school supplies and textbooks. Today Sarah receives the love, warmth and care that every child deserves.
